Jennifer (Jeni) Langdon is a Clinical Psychologist working in the area of aviation psychology, wellbeing, and human performance, an AHPRA-approved Supervisor, member of the Australian Psychological Society, and Director of Psychologists and Counsellors Australia. She is also involved in advocacy and advisory initiatives relating to psychological wellbeing, disability, youth resilience, and evidence-informed systems reform.

Before entering psychology, Jeni originally worked in the automotive industry as a vehicle mechanic before a serious rally car accident changed the trajectory of her career, an experience that continues to shape her understanding of resilience, human performance, adaptation, and recovery under pressure.

Her professional direction shifted dramatically following the birth of her second son, Byron Waller, when serious and ongoing medical complexities, extensive hospitalisation, and uncertainty quickly changed the trajectory of family life and highlighted the realities many families face navigating adversity and complex systems of care. What began as lived experience ultimately became a driving force behind her work supporting individuals, families, aviators, pilots, and high-performance professionals operating under stress and complexity.

With more than 16 years’ experience working across mental health, neurodevelopment, disability, trauma, human factors, and complex behavioural presentations, Jeni brings a broad understanding of both the human factors influencing performance in aviation and the complexities of supporting individuals and families navigating high-pressure environments and complex support needs.

Alongside husband Rob, Jeni has played a central role in supporting and mentoring her son, Byron Waller, throughout his aviation journey, from flying around Australia at 14 years old to completing a supported flight around the world at just 15. Combining her expertise in psychology, resilience, human behaviour, and aviation human factors with the perspective of a mother navigating adversity alongside her son, she offers valuable insight into the power of mentorship, emotional connection, leadership, decision making under pressure, and creating environments where young people can thrive. Her work in aviation psychology focuses on supporting wellbeing, performance, and safety within the aviation industry through evidence-based psychological practice, psychometric assessment, and practical operational understanding.

As a speaker, Jeni explores the intersection between resilience, aviation, leadership, family systems, and human performance. Her presentations highlight the critical role regional aviation can play in shaping confident, capable, and purpose-driven young Australians, particularly those facing illness, disability, adversity, or non-traditional pathways.

Through her leadership of Psychologists and Counsellors Australia and the Teen Pilot Down Under Foundation, Jeni continues to advocate for stronger community connection, youth engagement in aviation, and psychologically safe pathways for the next generation entering the industry.
